Liverpool fans loved what one player did before Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal against Chelsea

Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.

An impressive first half saw Jurgen Klopp's side lead 2-0 at the break, with goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Roberto Firmino.

Chelsea rallied in the second 45 minutes and pulled one back through N'Golo Kante, but despite a late period of pressure the Blues could not find an equaliser.

The Reds took the crucial lead after 14 minutes with right-back Alexander-Arnold firing a free-kick past Kepa after Sadio Mane was fouled on the edge of the Chelsea box.

But Liverpool had Fabinho to thank for starting the move which lead to the goal.

The Brazilian midfielder, who joined the Reds from Monaco in a deal worth up to £39m, plucked the ball out of the air near the centre circle with a deft touch before showing his power by dribbling past both Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic before passing to Mane; who then won the free-kick.

And Liverpool fans took to social media to express their delight at the midfielder's piece of skill and pass.

The Brazilian, who made his 50th appearance for Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, hailed Jurgen Klopp and the attitude of those at Liverpool for helping turn him into a winning footballer.

“Definitely I am different,” Fabinho told Liverpoolfc.com before the game, when asked if he has changed since joining.

“Liverpool has brought me up to the highest level of my career. I can win titles with Liverpool that I have always dreamed of.

“We are a winning team and a great team to play for with the players and coaching team we have.

“Everything around Liverpool, the competition for places, is really good and pushes us on to be even better.

“Bringing all of that together has made me a better player, definitely.”
