Liverpool fans love Jordan Henderson's message to 'haters' after goal

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has more than his fair share of critics.

The midfielder is a polarising member of Jurgen Klopp's side but continues to play a vital role in their battle for the Premier League title.

The England international came on as a substitute and bagged the third goal to seal a vital 3-1 win over Southampton on Friday night - and supporters of the 28-year-old loved his celebration.

Henderson instantly cupped his hands to his ears in what most felt was a clear message to those who have criticised him throughout the campaign.

"Henderson shutting all the haters up," one fan wrote.

What Jordan Henderson said to Gary Neville in cheeky dig after Liverpool's win

"We know we've got to win every game so tonight was another big game. I thought the lads showed great character in the first half under a little bit of pressure, to come out of that and to go in 1-1 at half-time I thought was good for us.

"And then to come out and win in the second half I thought was a big performance and a big result."

On his goal, Henderson added: "It was a big goal, I haven't got in those positions often this season because I've been playing a deeper role but I've had conversations with the manager. I thought I could affect things a little bit higher up and thankfully I've been able to affect things and contribute."
