Liverpool fans love Gini Wijnaldum's reaction to Trent Alexander-Arnold's world record but Barcelona fans won't

Trent Alexander-Arnold has broken the Guinness World Record for the most assists by a defender in Premier League season - and Gini Wijnaldum thinks his Liverpool team-mate should have another.

The 21-year-old defender created 12 goals in England's top flight, overtaking Everton duo Andy Hinchliffe and Leighton Baines who had dually held the record with 11 apiece.

Wijnaldum, who has been on international duty with Netherlands this week, sent the perfect response as the club's official Twitter announced Alexander-Arnold's inclusion in the 2020 version of the iconic book.

The Dutch midfielder replied to the announcement writing: "Fastest corner?"

Fans adored the reference to the Liverpool right-back quick corner which caught Barcelona off guard and teed up Divock Origi to net the winning goal.

Replies to the Wijnaldum's message flew in thick and fast, within minutes the post had over 4,000 likes and counting.

One supporter said: "GINIIIII that's a massive W (win) from you lad".

Similar messages poured in, with another fan dubbing it a "day to remember for life".
