Liverpool fans let off fireworks outside Barcelona team hotel ahead of Anfield clash

Liverpool supporters have attempted to disrupt Barcelona's preparations ahead of Tuesday night's crunch Champions League clash at Anfield by setting off fireworks outside their team hotel.

Lionel Messi and Co are staying at the Hilton hotel in the city centre as they look to finish the job against Jurgen Klopp's men after last week's 3-0 win at the Nou Camp.

Liverpool face an uphill task if they are to clinch an unlikely spot in the Champions League final, but their fans are going the extra mile to make life difficult for the visitors.

Videos are doing the rounds on social media of fireworks being set off next to the Hilton, reportedly in the early hours of the morning.

In one clip, a man shouts "wake up call for Mr Messi" then lets off a flurry of fireworks.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter late on Monday evening claiming there had been sightings of the bus in the Fazakerley area of the city driving erratically.

The rumours appeared to stem from an initial tweet stating: "Are Barca staying at The Hilton? If so, someone best tell them their bus has been robbed and it’s driving round Fazak" and quickly gaining significant traction.
