Liverpool fans have theory about Mohamed Salah's Twitter activity

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah posted a beaming selife onto his social media accounts earlier this morning.

And it has got Liverpool fans talking.

The Egyptian has been in the news over the weekend after giving an interview to Spanish outlet AS in which he admitted being left frustrated with Jurgen Klopp's decision to overlook him for the captaincy for the Champions League match against Midtjylland, as well as stopping short of distancing himself from a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

However, Salah also declared his wish to break "every record" with Liverpool and hinted at new Anfield contract, before coming off the bench to score twice in the 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Speculation continued throughout the weekend, however, and Salah, who has won the inaugural Reach Fans' Footballer of the Year, tweeted a selfie of him smiling on Monday morning.

While some Liverpool fans took it as an opportunity to persuade Salah to stay, others saw it as confirmation that the 29-year-old is in fact happy at Anfield.

One fan said: "Nice for counter media said you're not happy in Liverpool. What a joke, Mohammed Salah the best player, record breaker and legend."

While another remarked: "Does he look unhappy? Cos of captaincy he'd leave? Y'all not serious. Shine on my Egyptian King."

And another said: "Media: Liverpool are considering selling "unhappy" Mo Salah Mo Salah:"

Salah has scored 110 goals in 173 games since arriving at Liverpool in a £36m deal from Roma in 2017.
