Liverpool fans have Manchester United theory about Naby Keita goal celebration vs Crystal Palace

Naby Keita scored his first Liverpool goal for more than 12 months after during the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The midfielder's last goal for the Reds came at the end of the 2019/20 season in a 5-3 victory at home to Chelsea.

Sadio Mane had opened the scoring against the Eagles, before Mohamed Salah doubled their lead in the second half.

With minutes left on the clock, Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita punched a corner straight into the path of Keita, who drilled a left-footed volley into the back of the net.

What the Guinea international did next caught the eye of Liverpool supporters as he appeared to replicate a famous goal celebration from Manchester United legend Eric Cantona against Sunderland back in 1996.

One supporter tweeted: "Naby Keita with his own version of Cantona celebration. It’s indeed beautiful."

Another said: "Naby Keita remixing the Cantona celebration."

One shared: "That Keita goal + Eric Cantona-esque celebration just made my weekend."

Another posted: "Naby Keita scores a belter and adopts the Eric Cantona arrogance pose."

The 26-year-old made just 10 Premier League appearances last term as injuries once again limited his game time.

Supporters will hope Saturday's goal will be more than just a flash of quality as he looks to cement his place in Jurgen Klopp 's side.

Keita replaced the injured Thiago Alcantara on 62 minutes, the Spain international limped off with a calf issue that the club hope 'isn't serious'.
