Liverpool fans given first glimpse of new-look Kop ahead of Anfield return against Crystal Palace

Liverpool fans have been getting the Kop ready ahead of the Reds' first Premier League game at Anfield since the resumption of English football.

Jurgen Klopp 's side host Crystal Palace on Wednesday night in a game that will take place behind-closed-doors as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Reds haven't played at home since losing to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in March after football was suspended for three months, delaying Liverpool from clinching a maiden Premier League title in the process.

And while supporters will be missing from Anfield for at least the remainder of the season, Reds fans have made their presence felt by decorating the Kop in flags and banners in preparation for Wednesday's game.

Spion Kop 1906 took to Twitter and Instagram to show how the famous stand was looking after being coated in decoratives paying tribute to the likes of Liverpool's sixth European Cup victory last season, manager Jurgen Klopp, the Reds' match to the Premier League title and the 96 victims of the Hillsborough disaster.

"We’ve been at Anfield today, getting The Kop ready for Wednesday," Spion Kop posted before thanking fellow fans for their help.

And Liverpool supporters were delighted to see the Kop looking ready for Klopp's side's return to Anfield.
