Liverpool fans get glimpse of name being engraved on Premier League trophy ahead of Chelsea game

Liverpool supporters have finally been given a sneak preview of their name being engraved on the Premier League trophy.

Manchester City's defeat at Chelsea several weeks ago officially confirmed Jurgen Klopp's side as champions, with the Reds winning their first top flight title in 30 years.

And with their final home match of the season to come against Chelsea, Liverpool will lift the Premier League trophy after the match has concluded at Anfield.

It is understood the Reds will receive their medals and lift the trophy on a podium built on the Kop End stand at Anfield.

The ultimate lowdown on Kai Havertz

Ahead of the historic occasion, Liverpool fans have been shown a sneak preview of the club's name being engraved onto the famous trophy.

Sky Sports released a video on their official Twitter account of Liverpool's name being added under a long list of winners.

'2019-20 Liverpool' can be seen on the trophy in the video, written below last year's champions, Manchester City.

Elsewhere, supporters have been warned to stay away from Anfield on Wednesday night after thousands of fans gathered on the night Liverpool were confirmed as champions.

"This is such an important night for all Liverpool fans in the city and worldwide, with the Premier League trophy to be lifted inside the stadium," read a statement.

"The club and TV companies have made careful preparations to ensure that millions of people can enjoy these special moments on screen, in the comfort of their homes.

"On this occasion, the best seat in the house is in your living room.

"There is simply no benefit to going to the ground and we as a city cannot afford for people to gather in large numbers."
