Liverpool fans excitement builds as Nike sends players special Premier League champions items

Liverpool fans are excited as a number of players shared pictures of special items sent to them by Nike.

The major sports brand will be the new kit supplier for the Reds from next season following the expiration of the deal between the club and New Balance.

Supporters can't wait to see what the new kit will look like ahead of the 2020/21 season due to begin in September and anticipation has built even further as the company delivered specially made football boots to celebrate LFC winning the Premier League.

Virgil van Dijk, Xherdan Shaqiri, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones all posted images onto their Instagram stories showing off their new footwear.

The boots are white with red laces, a Liver Bird on one side and an image of the Premier League trophy on the other.

It has the trademark Nike tick, also in red and there is even a nice touch of a '96' between two flames as a Hillsborough tribute.

There's also the Roman numerals for '19' (XIX) emblazoned on them, representing the total number of league titles Liverpool have won during their history.

Although one supporter noticed it could have a double meaning and said: "It's cool that XIX means 19 but you can also read it as six for UCL."

Fans were desperate to not only know if they could get a pair themselves but also when the anticipated Nike kit and other items will be revealed.

One said: "OK, those are very very cool", another commented: "The custom boots Nike have sent the Liverpool players are something else."

While one supporter asked the question many have had on their mind for a while posting: "When are we going to see the Nike kit? It must be soon."

Liverpool will play in this season's New Balance strip for their final game against Newcastle but their new kit is expected to be show sometime before the Premier League 20/21 campaign starts in September.
