Liverpool fans ecstatic as Ibrahima Konate 'drops transfer hint on social media'

Ibrahima Konate has got Liverpool fans' pulses racing after the Anfield transfer target removed 'RB Leipzig player' from his Instagram biography.

The centre-half is reportedly on the verge of completing a summer switch to the Reds as Jurgen Klopp looks to add defensive reinforcements in the upcoming window.

Konate has 107,000 followers on Instagram and some eagle-eyed supporters of his noticed he had taken away any mention of Leipzig on his profile.

And when Liverpool fans got wind of it, they were sure it was a major hint that his move to the Premier League is all but confirmed.

@ LFC_9ja said: "I'm really excited about this potential signing. Can't wait to see him and Virgil play at CB."

@ DanStuart added: "It's only a matter of time."

@ SnowHalliburton tweeted: "Announcement soon."

@ lfcxtn said: "It's actually happening."

@ kabakattack19 tweeted: "Theory. Konate has mysteriously removed his bio and replaced it with a video with him and Harry Pinero which is based on getting to know Ibrahima Konate. Could he want us Liverpool fans to click on that?"

@ DoubleO17t added: "He’s coming."

Konate has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, but Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff still hopes to retain his services next season.

However, the defender has a release clause, reportedly around the £30million mark.

And Mintzlaff admits that puts Leipzig at a disadvantage if clubs like Liverpool come calling and decide to trigger it.

He told Sky Deutschland, as per the Liverpool Echo : “We’ll see what happens. I spoke to him this week.

“No decision has been made yet.

“There is an exit clause. That’s why we don’t sit in the driver’s seat.

“He is a player we want to keep.”
