Liverpool fans deliver brutal verdict on Gareth Bale moving to Anfield

Real Madrid and Wales superstar Gareth Bale WON'T be moving to Anfield this summer if Liverpool's fans have their way.

Reports in Spain have surfaced the player, whose services are seemingly no longer required by Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, is heading back to England with Liverpool and Tottenham, the hot favourites to sign him.

Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, who works for Okdiario, more than hinted that the two Champions League finalists were at the front of the queue for the four-time European Cup winner.

“Bale has spent the day playing golf at La Moraleja," said Inda. "And it is very likely that he will reach [an agreement with] either of the two finalists in the Champions League, Tottenham or Liverpool."

But a poll on the Liverpool Echo website has seen more than 8,000 fans cast their vote with 63% saying NO when asked: Do you want Liverpool to sign Gareth Bale?

The Welsh international broke Liverpool hearts last summer coming off the Real bench to score a brace which saw Real Madrid crowned European Champions for a fourth time in five years.

But with three years on a contract that earns him a reported weekly £600,000 wage, money would also be a major stumbling block.

Liverpool's highest-earner is likely to be Mo Salah on an estimated £200,000.

Also, with Bale turning 30 in July, his injury record could also be a major reasons behind the stance from Liverpool fans.

Since moving to the Bernabeu, Bale has been struck down by as many as 17 different problems, with repeated injuries to his ankles, calves and adductor muscles.
