Liverpool fans criticise "greedy" Mohamed Salah after key moment vs Tottenham

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has come in for plenty of recent criticism.

The Egyptian ace is in the middle of a well-documented goal drought and was blasted for being "selfish and greedy" by Reds legend Jamie Carragher earlier this month.

The same criticism was directed at Salah by Liverpool fans after he wasted a golden opportunity to put his side 2-0 up against Tottenham .

Salah was set free and burst clear but instead of sliding the ball into in-form team-mate Sadio Mane - who would have been clean through on Hugo Lloris' goal - he went himself.

His shot was blocked and Spurs soon took full advantage to equalise via Christian Eriksen in the 70th minute.

Salah was subsequently slammed by supporters for being "greedy" and "selfish",and urged to "pass the ball".

Fans questioned "Does Salah ever pass?" whilst one Red even went as far as demanding their talisman be dropped for his repeated poor decisions.

After their narrow 2-1 win over Fulham earlier this month, Carragher declared on Sky Sports: "He has been selfish and greedy, no doubt.

Gary Neville spots Liverpool tweak to take advantage of Tottenham weakness

“His record for Liverpool has been outstanding in the Premier League – scoring and creating goals. Nobody has been involved in more goals this season.

“He’s been a constant threat.

"But two or three times he’s got to get his head up and see what’s around him.”

His miss against Spurs came as he tried to end a run of seven games and counting without finding the back of the net.

It is the longest barren run the 26-year-old has endured since his move to Anfield in 2017.

He's also currently stuck one goal short of a half century for the club.
