Liverpool fans blown away by what Lazar Markovic has done at new club

When asked who is the worst Liverpool signing of the last decade, many Reds fans would likely say Lazar Markovic.

The Serbian winger was signed by Brendan Rodgers in 2014 for £20million but only managed 34 appearances in five years.

He was once described by Avram Grant as one of the best talents he had ever seen and comparisons to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were made.

However, Markovic struggled to live up to the potential and was sent out on loan four times as the Reds tried to offload him.

The winger finally left Anfield in January this year, joining Fulham until the end of the season before re-signing for former club FK Partizan.

Back in his home of Serbia, it seems Markovic is enjoying his football again.

But many Liverpool fans were shocked when a clip of the winger's recent performance against Javor emerged on Twitter:

The winger produced a piece of skill even Messi would be proud, flicking the ball up and over his opponent before racing down the flank and putting in a perfect cross for his striker.

His teammate was unable to finish, perhaps too shocked at what he had just witnessed.

It's fair to say Reds fans were questioning where this Markovic was during his five years at Anfield.

Markovic only managed three goals in Liverpool colours but has already equalled that tally at Partizan this season.

The Serb scored twice in their 2-0 win over Javor yesterday.

And it has left some Reds fans thinking about what could have been.
