Liverpool fans anger at bars charging 'rip off' prices for Champions League final screenings

Football fans are voicing their anger as city bars and pubs cash in on Liverpool FC making it to the UEFA Champions League Final .

With Jurgen Klopp’s team set to play Tottenham Hotspur in the final on Saturday, June 1, many venues in Liverpool have decided to charge an entry fee.

This hasn’t gone down too well with some fans, who believe it’s ‘cheeky’ to make fans pay to watch the match on the television.

These Liverpool bars have already sold out for the Champions League final

On Facebook, Davey Ash said: "The amount of money these places are gonna make from ale and food on the day yet still charge fans to watch the match. Naughty".

While Julie Kate Edwards agreed: "How dare they charge fans ...wouldn’t go anywhere that has the cheek to charge, especially when bar prices for plastic cupped warm drinks are astronomical anyway.

"Love the Baltic & I’m sure the atmosphere will be electric but support your local".

It’s not just the fans that are noticing the price hike, other local businesses and bars are calling out those charging over the odds.

Roscoe Street bar, The Scholar, took to Facebook to comment on the businesses who are charging fans to watch the match, the bar’s status reads: "We could put the prices up charge you £10/£15/£20 to get in but that’s not us.

"Entry will be free all day, you will get a wristband on the day that will allow you to get some air or go and smoke or go the shop Once we fill on the day that’s it."

Fans have also taken to Twitter to discuss, @Amy4168 said: "£15.90 to watch a footy match. Wow nice to see the bars of Liverpool taking advantage.

"They'll be making money over the packed bar. Why charge for entry. Could just have free tickts if it's a numbers thing. Rip off."

While @WalshBillyboo57 tweeted: "No way £15 what for ? To watch a game on their tv. Robbing b******"

And @jjedtrading added: "Boycott it. A charge is a joke I'm sorry"
