Liverpool fans all saying the same thing about referee display in Flamengo Club World Cup final

Liverpool fans have all been saying the same thing about the quality of the refereeing in the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup final against Flamengo.

One of the big moments of controversy came in the first half when Sadio Mane was booked whilst the Reds were on the counter attack.

Mane was reacting to being held back when he shoved Rafinha, with the Senegal international then given a yellow card.

It was a frustrating first half for Liverpool from that perspective as Flamengo brought their combative approach to the game.

And that continued in the second half as referee Abdulrahman Al-Jassim endured a difficult evening at the office, with the referee giving a penalty late on for Mane only to overturn it after consulting the pitchside monitor.

Despite being a FIFA international referee since 2013, his performance has been below par and something which has been heavily criticised by fans and one former player in John Arne Riise as the match went to extra time.

Here is the best of the reaction below.

Even after Liverpool took the lead when Roberto Firmino netted, fans were still making jokes.
