Liverpool fans all say the same thing after Kevin De Bruyne drops Man City transfer hint

Liverpool supporters have been quick to respond after Kevin De Bruyne hinted he may consider leaving Manchester City if their Champions League ban is upheld.

City are facing a two-year suspension from European competition after UEFA ruled the League Cup winners had committed serious breaches of FFP regulations by “overstating its sponsorship revenue in its accounts”.

The Etihad outfit have since appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport although their hearing has been delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

And when asked by Belgian news outlet Het Laaste Nieuws what might happen if the appeal is rejected, De Bruyne prompted intrigue.

"I’m just waiting a little bit," he said. "The club has told us that they will appeal the decision. And they are 100% convinced that they are in the right.

“Two years would be long. One year is something I might be able to cope with.

“I play for one of the best teams in the world. I play in England - from a competitive point of view, it’s the best league - and I like it.

"It’s a challenge to be the best and to win. That’s something I need to keep doing in my career.

“Whatever will come, will come. I have always played the game fairly when I moved clubs. I have never been a troublemaker.”

News of boyhood Liverpool fan De Bruyne possibly considering his future led many Reds supporters on social media to urge Jurgen Klopp's side to pounce.

Ray Martin said: "Welcome to Liverpool FC." And Adam Grocott declared: "Once a red, always a red."

Craig Whiting opined: "If he joined Liverpool we would be unbeateable."

James Ndubuisi said: "De Bruyne to Liverpool has been green lit."

And Mahmoud Medhat said: "He needs Liverpool and Liverpool needs a playmaker with De Bruyne's quality. His childhood team was Liverpool."
