Xherdan Shaqiri has set Liverpool tongues wagging on social media after equalising for Switzerland against Spain in the Euro 2020 quarter-finals to notch his third goal of the competition.
Spain had taken the lead early in the first half through Jordi Alba's deflected strike, and had looked set to go on and progress to the semi-finals
However, Shaqiri, who was captaining his country for the first time in a competitive fixtures, equalised with just over 20 minutes to play.
And with Liverpool reportedly looking to raise funds this summer, Shaqiri's goal seems to have brought delight to many fans as they have been reminded of his ability.
After his two goals against Turkey, Shaqiri has produced some fantastic form at this summer's Euro's to become Switzerland's leading goalscorer in major international finals.
There has never been doubting Shaqiri's ability, however, given that he has struggled with injuries and is competing against the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for a place in the starting lineup, it has become easy to forget just what he is capable of producing.
Whether Liverpool decide to keep their Swiss man or sell him this summer, his performances at this summer's Euro's will certainly boost Liverpool one way or another.
