Liverpool fan to cut his hair for first time in 17 years after Premier League title promise

For one Liverpool fan, it wasn't just the Premier League that had alluded him year after year - he also hadn't had a hair cut in 17 years.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool were crowned English champions for the first time in 30 years as Manchester City failed to beat Chelsea in a dramatic 2-1 loss on Thursday night.

And Uke Krasniqi, a Liverpool fan from Kosovo living in Vancouver, can now get his hair cut for the first time in 17 years after vowing not to until his side next won the title.

The 37-year-old watched the likes of Graeme Souness and Kenny Dalglish dominate English football and - perhaps more than anyone - has reason to celebrate when Jordan Henderson lifts the trophy.

“Whenever I see Jordan Henderson lifting that trophy I will be cutting my hair,” he told the PA news agency.

Krasniqi made the vow after City pipped Liverpool to the title six years ago following Steven Gerrard's infamous slip.

“You never get over it, but you have to," he added. "That’s life, you have to move on.

“I’ve been keeping my hair, I’ve been waiting for this moment.

“I said it, as long as it takes. I had a few disappointing moments but it seems that I’m finally there, it’s going to happen.”
