Liverpool fan Sean Cox sends emotional message as he speaks for the first time since attack

Liverpool fan Sean Cox has sent a video message to those who have supported and sent him well-wishes over the past year.

The Irishman sustained life-changing injuries after being assaulted outside Anfield last April.

His attacker is now jailed but Sean's road to recovery continues and his rehabilitation is ongoing.

Mr Cox has spoken publicly for the first time in a video shared to social media by Off The Ball.

In the clip the Meath-native can be seen raising his thumb and saying: "Thank you".

On Friday night at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin a charity match will take place in order to raise funds for his continued rehab.
