Liverpool fan reported missing in Madrid after Champions League game has been found

The brother of a Liverpool FC fan who went missing in Madrid after Liverpool's Champions League victory has said that he has now been 'found.'

Macauley Negus, 23,  was said to have gone 'missing' during the post-match celebrations in Madrid on Saturday night.  Macauley had driven to Madrid with his family to watch the reds take on Tottenham in the Champions League final.

There are now reports that he was arrested by Spanish Police.

Macauley's family had appealed for help and infomation following his apparent dissapearance on Saturday night. He was last seen in the Goya area of Madrid. However Macauley's  brother has now said that he has been 'found.'

In a statement on social media Ashley Negus said: "To everyone who has helped my family during this tough time I want to say thankyou we have now found Macauley.

"I will update a statement this evening! My family wants everyone to know we our forever in your debt as with out your help we would not have found him thank you everyone."

Tweeting today, Radio City said they were given a statement that a British man had been arrested in the Spanish capital.

The station wrote: "The British Embassy in Madrid have just given us this statement : " “We are supporting the family of a British man who has been arrested in Madrid, and our consular staff are in contact with the Spanish police.”

A number of other news outlets have reported that Macauley has been arrested.

Website Plymouth Live has also reported that Macauley has been found 'safe and well.'
