Liverpool 'enter final stages' of Mohamed Salah contract talks as Borussia Dortmund make Jude Bellingham stance clear

The January transfer window is moving ever closer, and Liverpool continue to be linked with potential new additions to their squad.

Ibrahima Konate was the only first-team addition that the Reds brought to the club during the summer window, while several left Anfield either on a loan basis or on permanent deals.

Despite the window still being closed, that hasn’t stopped Liverpool being credited with an interest in a host of players.

Here, we take a look at some of the latest rumours doing the rounds online and on social media, and how likely they are to happen, plus a contract update on star man, Mohamed Salah.

Here We Go podcast.

What?

Liverpool could be in a 'dangerous' position with Salah’s contract, it has been claimed.

The Egyptian is still locked in negotiations with the club over a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in 18 months time.

While there is no confirmation over fresh terms, rumours continue to swirl over whether or not Salah will actually put pen to paper.

And renowned transfer ‘expert’ Fabrizio Romano has had his say on the talks.

“Many people were thinking Mo wanted to put some pressure on the board of Liverpool or something like this,” Romano told his podcast this week.

Mo said basically he’s happy at Liverpool and he wants to stay in the Premier League but it’s not just up to him, it’s up to the club to offer him the right contract.

“So what’s going on? The Liverpool board, Jurgen Klopp and everyone at the club wants to keep Mo Salah. That’s 100 per cent sure. It’s [been] the priority of Liverpool for months and months. At the same time, Salah will be 30 in the coming months and he wants an important contract because it will be his last ‘super’ contract of his career. That is why Salah is still negotiating with Liverpool.

“At the moment, the negotiation is about a financial point – his salary. He wants a huge salary. They’ve been negotiating since last summer but now it’s time to enter the final stages of the negotiation. Liverpool know if they arrive in May or June with Salah still not signing his new deal there will be a problem because he’ll be out of contract in 2023.

“It’ll be a dangerous situation for Liverpool.”

According to the report, Dortmund have no intention of letting Bellingham leave the club next summer amid apparent interest from Liverpool.

Reports emerged on Tuesday claiming that the Reds are leading the chase to sign the England international, with Chelsea and Manchester United also apparently keen.

However, the latest report from Germany says that Dortmund are 'adamant' that Bellingham will not be leaving the club next summer, despite an apparent £90million asking price being set.

Lloyd Kelly, Bournemouth defender.

Where?

Daily Mail.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool have expressed an interest in signing the versatile Cherries defender.

It has been claimed that Newcastle United have listed Kelly as a potential January transfer target, as Eddie Howe eyes reinforcements.

However, the report also lists Liverpool as having an interest in Kelly, who is capable of playing as a centre-half and at left-back.

The defender was linked with a move to Anfield earlier in his career while he was at Bristol City, before he ended up joining Bournemouth in 2019, and we linked again last summer.
