It has been the transfer window that seemingly never wants to end.
But at 5pm this evening, the final deadline will pass for Liverpool to conclude their business until a brief pause before the January market opens.
With international deals and Premier League moves having had to be sorted earlier this month, the focus during the past fortnight has instead been on transfers to and from lower league clubs.
Liverpool have no inclination to bring in a goalkeeper having dismissed suggestions last weekend of interest in Stoke City’s Jack Butland.
Instead, the Reds have a number of players who could be on the move today, whether that be a permanent departure or, as is more likely, a temporary exit.
The most intrigue surrounds Harry Wilson, whose long-term prospects at Liverpool look gloomy having been omitted from their Champions League squad.
Wilson, on international duty with Wales this week, is being courted for a loan move by Championship sides Swansea City and Derby County, with whom he spent the 2018/19 season.
The winger had been a target for Burnley but their offer of £12million plus add-ons was rejected by Liverpool, who value Wilson nearer to £20m.
Nat Phillips has returned from injury and is wanted by a host of Championship clubs including Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Bristol City. A permanent exit for the centre-back is preferred by Liverpool.

A loan move to Sparta Rotterdam stalled for Ben Woodburn last month, with the Welshman instead skippering the U23s in the opening weeks of the season. Hull City have previously registered an interest, while fellow League One side Charlton Athletic are also pondering an offer.
Hull may also consider coming back in for Herbie Kane, who impressed with the Tigers earlier in the year until his stint was ended by injury. Kane returned to action last week for the U23s in a 5-0 friendly win over Salford City at the Academy in Kirkby.
Liam Millar, another to have starred for the U23s this term, is also primed for a temporary exit.
Yasser Larouci was made available for sale earlier in the summer having declined a new deal before entering the final 12 months of his contract.
While early interest from Leeds United and Brentford was not made concrete, Championship side Norwich City were among other clubs monitoring developments.
Finally, Sepp van den Berg is available for loan with Liverpool keen for the teenager to continue his development with regular first-team football.
Scouts from across Europe watched the Dutch defender in action in the EFL Trophy last month, although any move would now be limited to domestic lower-league clubs.
