Liverpool eye shock move for Stoke misfit as West Ham linked with Cardiff City and Swansea City stars and trio chase £14m Chelsea man

Here's a round-up of all the latest transfer news and rumours from around the Championship on Friday, October 9...

Liverpool keen on Butland

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a surprise move for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.

According to Football Insider, the Reds are assessing their goalkeeper options after Adrian's horror show in last Sunday's 7-2 hammering at the hands of Aston Villa.

And, with first choice keeper Alisson likely to be sidelined for around two months, Butland has reportedly emerged on the radar at Anfield.

Butland has fallen down the pecking order at the Bet365 Stadium, with Welshman Adam Davies emerging as the preferred option.

Hammers getting busy

Swansea City captain Matt Grimes is said to be transfer targets for West Ham United, but the Hammers will not be moving for Cardiff City skipper Sean Morrison.

The Daily Star claims Hammers boss David Moyes is ready to raid the Championship for new recruits after moving on several first-team players over the summer.

However, WalesOnline understands that reports linking the Premier League outfit with Cardiff star Morrison are wide of the mark.

Bournemouth striker Josh King and defender Steve Cook also being linked with the Hammers, along with Watford’s Craig Dawson and £5million-rated Ryan Manning of Queens Park Rangers.

Premier League clubs can still sign players from their EFL counterparts until October 16.

Chelsea man wanted

Derby County, Watford and Middlesbrough are interested in Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman, according to the Daily Mail.

Ghana international Rahman joined Chelsea from Augsburg in a £14million deal five years ago.

The 26-year-old has had loan spells with Schalke, Reims and Real Mallorca.

Now it looks like he could be loaned out again by the Blues - possibly this time to a Championship club.

Jerome returns

Former Derby, Norwich, Birmingham, Stoke and Cardiff striker Cameron Jerome could be set to return to England.

The 34-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract expired at Turkish club Goztepe.

Football Insider reports that League One side MK Dons are on the verge of signing Jerome on a free transfer.

The player is said to have agreed terms on a one-year deal with the Milton Keynes outfit, managed by former Norwich man Russell Martin.

Bogle finds new club

Former Cardiff City, Wigan and Grimsby striker Omar Bogle has joined Charlton Atheltic.

The striker left Cardiff at the end of last season after a loan spell in the Netherlands with ADO Den Haag.

Addicks boss Lee Bowyer said: “It’s a position we needed to strengthen, so I’m over the moon with Omar’s signing. He’s good at everything, his all-around game as a striker is really good and we’ll improve him, which we do with all our players. He will be a very good striker in this division.

“I’ve said it before, we have to bring the right people in and Omar fits that. He’s another piece of the puzzle and slowly but surely we’re putting a decent squad together.”
