Liverpool extras wanted for feature film being shot in city

A feature film being shot in Liverpool is looking for locals to appear as extras.

The call has gone out for people to appear as background artists in a number of scenes which are set to be filmed across Merseyside.

Harry Oliver, Second Assistant Director, said: “It’s a really interesting script which looks into breaching mental health and growing up in the care system.

"It’s to do with a gig in the 1970s where a group of kids who are in a care home/orphanage, they go to this gig and meet Marc Bolan and at the gig there is a fire.

“It’s a low budget feature film from a BAFTA Nominee, he’s a writer and director and it’s his debut feature film.

“In the name of the film is a band and a lead singer from a band but I can’t reveal too much.

“We’re looking for locals in Liverpool to be a part of the background extras.

“Dates include June 22, June 23 and June 28.

“This week we’re shooting the 1970s at a gig so people with long hair, moustaches, sideburns, all that kind of jazz."

The film has a low budget and those who choose to take part won’t be paid, however it could be the perfect opportunity to start off in the film industry.

Harry added: “The film is super low budget on this one so it’s really more about the fun of being involved in the whole production and seeing how it works behind the scenes if they’re interested. It’s a good opportunity to get your way into the film industry perhaps.

"It’s real, it’s hard hitting, it’s the sort of film when you watch it in the cinema you say ‘that meant a lot’. It’s about family, it’s about loss and identity as well. It’s definitely an interesting one.

“I can’t actually reveal the full cast but there is one actor who you will know but I can’t give his name so we’re just trying to keep it under wraps at the moment

“It’s all set around Liverpool and the Wirral.”
