Liverpool Edge Lane Travelodge is finally open after digger rampage setback

Travelodge on Edge Lane is officially open, after setbacks cause them to push the opening back.

At the start of this year, a disgruntled worker in a digger trashed the hotel lobby which meant some construction had to be redone.

However today, five months after the incident , Luciana Berger, MP for Liverpool Wavertree joined Nigel Mackenzie, Travelodge , Operations Director, to officially open Liverpool Edge Lane Travelodge.

The pair unveiled the hotel's Instagrammable postcard wall and the rest of the hotel.

Liverpool Edge Lane Travelodge is the company’s 581st hotel and its 15th in Merseyside. It is located in the former, century old, prestigious, Plessey’s headquarters building on Edge Lane; which had been vacant since 2006.

The office conversion, 71-room hotel features an on-site restaurant called the Bar Café, complementary car parking and represents a multi-million investment for the landlord.

The hotel is ideally located by the city’s largest retail outlet, Liverpool Shopping Park.

All rooms feature the bespoke luxurious king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed, which offers bedside USB charging points, energy saving LED mood enhancing lighting, as well as an en-suite bathroom, power shower, comfort cooling, Freeview TV and free in-room tea & coffee making facilities.
