Liverpool duo's transfer value soars as Reds reap benefits of successful 2019

Liverpool stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane have seen their transfer values soar in 2019.

The duo have proven to be key players for Liverpool as the Reds collected 97 points in the Premier League and won the Champions League in June .

Mane has scored 21 goals for Liverpool in 2019 alone and finished last season as joint Premier League top scorer alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reds team-mate Mohamed Salah.

Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold has established himself as one of the best full-backs in European football, providing 15 assists from defence in this calendar year.

According to Transfermarkt, Mane's valued has soared by 60% in 2019, to a total of £108m. That's the most of any player in the Premier League, with Manchester City's Bernardo Silva second on the list, valued at £90m.

Alexander-Arnold is behind Silva in third on the list, but the data has his value increasing by 77% to a total of £72m.

In reality, both players would be worth even more to Liverpool, as Transfermarkt's system of valuing players is actually much lower than real fees.

For example, Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk are valued at £72m and £82m - marginally more than what Liverpool paid for them.

But it does show how significant Mane and Alexander-Arnold's contributions to Liverpool have been in 2019 - and their value is bound to continue to rise as the year comes to a close.
