Liverpool duo return to training as exciting youngsters involved in session ahead of Atletico Madrid

Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson took part in full team training on Tuesday ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

The Reds must overturn a 1-0 deficit on Wednesday night at Anfield against Diego Simeone’s side and will welcome the return of both players.

Captain Henderson has been out of action since suffering a grade two hamstring strain in the first leg of the last-clash at the Wanda Metropolitano while left-back Robertson was left out of the squad against Bournemouth, though both have returned to fitness.

Two talented youngsters in the form of Curtis Jones and Neco Williams both took part in the training session at Melwood with Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Beckeer the only absentees on the short-term injury list.

The players were put through their paces firstly by Andreas Kornmayer, who is head of fitness and conditioning, before Pep Lijnders started the passing drills as the squad moved onto the pitch.

Manager Jurgen Klopp watched on as his team made their final preparations for the crunch match against Atleti.
