Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane hailed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Golden Boot tie

The focus was well and truly on the Premier League title race on the final day and while Liverpool failed to pip Manchester City, two of their players did achieve something special.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will share the Golden Boot with Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after a dramatic final day in the goal-scoring stakes.

Mane bagged both goals in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Wolves at Anfield which saw the Reds end the season just one point short of title winners Man City.

The Arsenal forward has since praised the Liverpool duo after it was announced that he will share the Golden Boot honour for the 2018/19 campaign.

“I’m happy that we won and that I’m sharing the (Golden Boot) trophy with two other guys that I like," Aubameyang said.

"I’m a team player and if I wasn’t scoring, it wouldn’t have mattered. But I scored and I’m really happy for that. I have to be thankful to the team.
