While I'm sure both clubs won't like it being said, the more you see of Jurgen Klopp and this Liverpool team, the more you think of Sir Alex Ferguson and his all-conquering Manchester United side of the later noughties. The parallels are uncanny.
The Reds once again ripped through their opposition on Wednesday night to make it a staggering 18 successive matches in which they have scored two or more goals - and it wasn't just any opposition, but Everton, in a Merseyside derby. This was special.
As the Toffees appeared to quake in their boots before a ball had even been kicked, Liverpool looked frighteningly assured from the very first whistle.
Like United when facing the Reds in weeks gone by, the occasion appeared all too much for Everton inside the first 20 minutes as they found themselves continuously dragged out of position, carved open and 2-0 down, but it could have been five.
Try going toe-to-toe with this Liverpool side and you'll simply get torn apart.
And the same fate would have befallen you should that very strategy have been adopted against the United team which stormed their way to two consecutive Champions League finals and three successive Premier League titles between 2006 and 2009 under Ferguson's guidance.
Aside from the modern upgrade of marauding full-backs in the form of the simply staggering Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson, this Liverpool team are a carbon copy.
For a sometimes spiky, domineering manager who has the media eating out of his hands, insert Klopp for Ferguson.
For a rip-roaring front three possessing blistering pace, crafty creativity and bundles of goals, insert Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota for Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez.
And for a settled squad, bursting with options and all happy to sacrifice selfish sulks for the greater good of their team, insert this Liverpool side for that United one.

Salah's sumptuous brace on Wednesday night made it 19 goals in as many games this season triggering flashbacks to the 42-goal haul Ronaldo served up in the 2007-08 season when he was at the peak of his United powers.
For a standout superstar at the spearhead of the side, dead-set on scoring every time he takes to the turf, insert Salah for Ronaldo. The comparisons could go on and on.
While the Red Devils may not thank me for pointing it out as they continue to search for the light amid their current darkness, Liverpool fans should surely take hope from the resemblance.
It may well be evoking painful memories of United's former dominance, but it may just reveal a lot about the Reds' imminent future. You get the impression Liverpool are in the midst of greatness.
Klopp has already delivered Champions League and Premier League glory thus far, but he's by no means finished.
While three successive Premier League titles will take some doing given the level of threat posed by Chelsea and Manchester City - the latter having immediately dethroned Liverpool last time out - there's surely plenty of silverware to come.
If history is anything to go by, and United's history in particular, Klopp has built the foundations for a side that will take the Premier League and Europe by storm this season.
