Liverpool double injury boost confirmed as trio remain sidelined for Newcastle United visit

Roberto Firmino has returned to full Liverpool training as Jurgen Klopp reported no fresh injury concerns.

Klopp also revealed Curtis Jones was available for 'big parts' of practice this week after recovering from an eye injury.

Firmino and Jones have both been out since October but Klopp suggested the pair are in contention for the visit of Newcastle United on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Harvey Elliott and goalkeeper Adrian remain absent while Divock Origi is sidelined with a 'little issue'.

Klopp said: "I really don't like to talk about it because always when I say something like, 'It looks really good', then I get a call, but it looks OK in the moment. No new injuries.

"Bobby is back in full training, Curtis yesterday in big parts of training.

"That leaves Harvey out obviously long-term and Divock has a little issue, and Adrian obviously. So the rest should be fine.”

At his press conference on Wednesday, Klopp added: "Curtis had a partial session with the team. Timing-wise, it couldn't be better."

Klopp also confirmed all players had been tested for coronavirus this week and returned negative results.

He continued: "I think we are all boosted who are eligible to be.

"The others who aren't yet will be once they are."
