Liverpool doctor finds his car tyres slashed after finishing night shift

A Liverpool doctor returned from his night shift to find his car tyres had been slashed in a mindless act of vandalism.

Adrian Harrop, 33, from Woolton, was working a night-shift as an out of hours GP on July 7, when he returned to his car to find his front two tyres had been slashed.

The GP, who had parked his car in Wavertree Technology Park, managed to drive his car home after finishing his shift on Wednesday morning, thinking he had a puncture.

However, when a mechanic came to fit new tyres on his car, he found two deep gashes in them.

Adrian said that he was "disappointed" that he had been targeted like this and had been left £300 out of pocket.

He told the ECHO: "It's a bit frustrating and disappointing that this has happened. I'm not taking it personally because whoever did this wouldn't have known me and its not like they had a personal vendetta against me.

"It just made me realise what sad little world we live in, where something like this could happen.

"It's especially bad that it happened in a car park of a medical facility which is clearly marked with NHS signs. The person who did this would have known the car belonged to an NHS employee."

Adrian said he was in the process of obtaining CCTV footage to see if the incident was caught on camera.

Despite the incident, he said he was glad that emergency vehicles were not targeted.

He added: "I'm just glad it didn't happen to an emergency vehicle. It could have been much worse if someone hadn't been able to get help because of vandalism.

"It's just disappointing. I didn't think someone would ever do this to someone working for the NHS."
