Liverpool DJ Lee Butler to open Ravin' Restaurant mixing clubbing with food

Liverpool DJ Lee Butler is starting a brand new project which mixes clubbing with cuisine.

The ECHO's DJ of the year is working on a themed restaurant and bar idea which pays tribute the rave scene and to all of Liverpool's iconic nightlife.

He said the restaurant would be in the Liverpool city centre, although he didn't reveal exactly where.

On his public Facebook account , the Radio City presenter makes clear that it will be called 'Ravin Restaurant' and it will have a fully-themed decor, menu and drinks - and clubbers will have the chance to choose their favourite anthems for the live DJ to play.

And he is looking for the clubbing community's help by asking anyone who may have any old flyers, posters or pictures from any of Liverpool's clubbing nightlife.

He wrote: "[It is] a real trip down memory lane, taking people on an interactive journey through time exploring the fantastic history and clubbing memories of the rave scene and Liverpool's iconic clubs.

"Expect nostalgia, old flyers, paper articles, posters, rare vinyl, unseen footage, classic anthems and a fully themed menu and cocktails."

People's suggestions about what to name drinks and food dishes are also being asked for.

Some apt names for food items that he has already thought of include: Club 051 bowl of Scouse House; The Quad Burger, and The Paradox Penne Pasta.

Details about a free opening launch night are expected to be released.
