Liverpool Deliveroo rider called a 'hero' after coronavirus effort

A Deliveroo rider from Liverpool has been praised for his heroic efforts during the coronavirus crisis.

This year, Deliveroo is celebrating riders who have demonstrated heroism and helped improve the lives of others in their local community during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In this time of uncertainty, the winning riders have demonstrated how they have played a vital role during the pandemic as key workers and gone above and beyond to support and provide for vulnerable members of their community.

Steven Flemming, who has been a Deliveroo rider in Liverpool for over three years, has been named as one of the winners.

He was awarded the prize for being kind, supportive, offering advice and fixing other's bikes whilst working hard throughout lockdown.

Steven was described as 'kind and supportive' and always up for a good chat.

His nomination read: “Because Steven is a super kind and supportive guy he’ll always be there to help any roo with any problem; from fixing bikes, to a good chat... no one deserves this more than Steven….

"He has inspirational qualities that he lends to us all out on the road."

Deliveroo CEO and founder Will Shu said: “Our riders are heroes and at the heart of everything we do.

"They have worked tirelessly this year to provide for and support their local communities, and have proved themselves to be invaluable during the Covid-19 crisis.

"We are very proud of all they have achieved and the enormous contribution they make to people’s daily lives."
