Liverpool defender takes no prisoners on Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager gets involved in open training

Jurgen Klopp may have turned 52 last month, but he proved he is still capable of mixing it with the stars of today after getting involved in Liverpool's open training on Saturday.

Despite retiring in 2001, Klopp dusted off his New Balance boots and took part in a bit of action with the first team during their pre-season tour of the United States.

Unfortunately for the Reds manager, he came up against a Dejan Lovren who was not in an accommodating mood for his boss in Boston.

The Croatian centre-back takes no prisoners on the pitch for the European champions and it appears he extends that attitude to training too after being caught on camera muscling his manager out of the way before winning a header over the weekend.

Klopp was given a first-hand taste of the rough and tumble of last season's meanest defence in the top flight, with Lovren dominating the exchange during the session at Fenway Park.

Lovren uploaded the image to his Instagram account on Sunday with the simple caption: "Guess who? Sorry".

It's certainly one way to catch your manager's attention ahead of the new Premier League season.

Liverpool continue their tour of the States before concluding proceedings against Portuguese giants Sporting at Yankee Stadium on Thursday.
