Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas has revealed his latest tattoo is a tribute to teammate Diogo Jota, who tragically lost his life in a car accident earlier this month alongside brother André Silva.
The Reds have already retired Jota’s No.20 shirt and also moved the Portugal forward to a new section on their squad page entitled ‘Forever’, with tributes to Jota set to continue as the new Premier League season prepares to get underway.
Tsimikas has now revealed a tribute of his own, tattooing his body with a message for Jota.
“Wish you were here,” the tattoo reads on his hand, alongside Jota’s No.20.
Tsimikas and Jota both joined Liverpool in the summer of 2020, and the Greek defender admitted the pair grew close as a result in his first tribute to his teammate earlier this month.

“We’ve moved to the club the same period,” he wrote. “We were the new boys in the city. We’ve shared and celebrated some of our best moments of our careers together.
“Before one of our last ones you’ve said to me, ‘You cross, I score’ and that’s what happened. We laughed and we talked about lots.
“You were a special player, a special guy, a true legend Diogo. You’ll always be remembered and always be loved.
“My heart and my prayers are with your [wife] Rute, your boys, your little girl, your family and everyone who loved and waited for you both to go home. You and your brother André will be missed forever.”
