Liverpool defender returns to training amid coronavirus delay

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips is back in training.

The time has finally arrived when some players are returning to the training ground with teammates, albeit elsewhere on the continent.

Ahead of a proposed return in May, Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga teams have started returning to their respective training grounds.

That means Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, who is currently on loan at 2.Bundesliga side Stuttgart, is back on the grass.

Stuttgart posted a number of pictures of their first session back on their Instagram story today, and Phillips was featured.

Phillips was loaned to Stuttgart for the season but then recalled in January.

After featuring in the FA Cup clash with Everton, the 23-year-old was sent back to Germany for the rest of the season, as originally planned.

He has made 15 league appearances for Stuttgart so far, helping them to second in the table, where they are primed for promotion to the top-flight.

German football is set to return on May 16 at the earliest, a week later than the original date.
