Liverpool dealt Sadio Mane injury worry during clash with Wolves

Liverpool are sweating on the fitness of Sadio Mane after he limped out of the first half against Wolves on Thursday.

The Senegal star pulled up midway through the first 45 as the Reds looked to launch a counter-attack involving him and Mohamed Salah on the halfway line.

Salah rolled the ball back to his team-mate but Mane was unable to make a run for it and instead walked away from the attack.

Mane immiedately hobbled over to the near side where the Liverpool physios were stationed before taking a seat to halt the game at Molineux.

After a quick assessment from the club doctors, Mane was taken off shortly after the half-hour mark with Jordan Henderson's header separating the sides.

It is unclear what Mane's issue is at present but the forward will sit out Sunday's trip to Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup and will be assessed ahead of next week's meeting with West Ham at the London Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp will deliver a more definitive update on the frontman in his Friday press conference ahead of the fourth-round tie at New Meadow.

Mane was replaced by Takumi Minamino who came on for his Premier League debut for the Reds.
