Liverpool dealt fresh Andy Robertson blow after Leeds United postponement

Leeds United's postponement against Liverpool has caused a fresh headache for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Andy Robertson was shown a straight red after a VAR check against Tottenham Hotspur last week.

The Liverpool left-back would have served his suspension against the Whites but will instead miss the Reds' top of the table clash with Chelsea.

The Whites' game with Liverpool was postponed as a result of rising Covid-19 cases in camp and the Reds have had depleted numbers as a result of injuries and an outbreak of their own.

The Scottish captain was absent from Liverpool's starting XI in the Carabao Cup win over Leicester, and was set to miss the game against Leeds on Boxing Day, followed by their game against the Foxes in the Premier League on December 28.

As a result of the Whites' postponement, Robertson will now return for Liverpool's Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal in January.
