A Liverpool Christmas Markets event has appeared on Facebook which states the annual festivities will open on December 13.
The Facebook event is hosted by Love Liverpool and more than 600 people have already expressed interest in attending.
However, the Christmas event is typically operated by Liverpool City Council and usually starts in November at St George’s plateau, with a range of traders offering a range of food, drink, arts and crafts for shoppers to indulge in.

The unofficial Facebook event states that there will be “food stalls, live entertainment, pop-up street food trucks and live music”.
Liverpool City Council has confirmed that the Facebook event and Love Liverpool page are not affiliated with the council and that a decision on the return of the Christmas Markets will come through official channels.
A spokesperson for Liverpool City Council said: “Our Culture Liverpool team is currently looking at the feasibility of staging a Christmas Markets event this year, and a decision will be made in the near future.
