Liverpool and the Red Bull group are linked in many different ways, but it is in terms of transfers and scouting that the most obvious comparisons lie.
The reason for that is simple: like Liverpool, the style of football played by Jesse Marsch at Red Bull Salzburg and Julian Nagelsmann at RB Leipzig is inspired in part by Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp, in turn, based a lot of his principles of how to play the game on the work of Ralf Rangnick, who was until recently the Red Bull group's head of sport - essentially their version of Michael Edwards.
That means that the best of the players at Salzburg and Leipzig - the two best clubs under the Red Bull umbrella - are almost inevitably going to be linked with moves to Anfield.
"You can see the trend in this Liverpool team where they are fans of Red Bull players.," said Karan Tejwani, author of Wings of Change and Red Bull Soccer expert, on a special Blood Red podcast.
"Joel Matip did not play for Red Bull but he played for Schalke under Ralf Rangnick; Naby Keita was signed from Leipzig, Sadio Mane from Southampton but he had been at Salzburg, and Takumi Minamino last year from Salzburg who is now at Southampton.
"You could say the whole team [might be interesting Liverpool] to be honest! Both teams are doing really well.
"Dominik Szoboszlai moved to Leipzig from Salzburg and that is just the start. Hwang Hee-chan also moved last year as well.

"At Leipzig, you could see Marcel Sabitzer or Tyler Adams - they have the quality to play at [Liverpool's] level because they have this idea of playing a modern, attacking vertical way."
Sabitzer, a 26-year-old midfielder, is Leipzig's captain and a key man in the centre of the pitch. Tottenham are among the clubs who have been linked with a transfer move for him of late.
Adams, a holding midfielder who came through the academy setup at the New York Red Bulls before moving to Germany at 16, turns 22 on Valentine's Day.
But they are not the only two who have big futures ahead of them.
"There is a lot of talent across both Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig," Tejwani added.
"You could say that the majority of players who consistently start for them could make the jump to any of the clubs around Europe.
"Patson Daka has been mentioned a lot and so too Sekou Koita, who has scored 16 goals and got 10 assists this season (in 27 games), so there are lots of players on both teams."
Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate are two stars of the team who will almost certainly move on this summer, with Liverpool having been linked with moves for both central defenders.
Each have relatively modest release clauses in their contracts - though Upamecano has now sealed a deal to join Bayern Munich.
"Upamecano gets more of the attention because he was great last season and is doing similarly this season," Tejwani concluded.
"But at the time when Konate was consistently fit - and he has missed most of the last season and a half through injury - I always felt he was the more capable one.
"But due to injury, he has not been able to show that. Both are great players and they have great futures in the game."
