Liverpool could help Harry Kane make £79 million transfer as Man United close in on deal

Liverpool became the latest Premier League club to welcome back their stars for pre-season this week.

New signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai joined their new teammates on Tuesday as they took part in pre-season testing for the first time.

It is under a month until the Premier League season gets underway with Liverpool kicking off their campaign on the Sunday (July 13) against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Clubs in the English top-flight could look a lot different by then as they look to move fast to acquire their targets, in order for them to acclimatise to their new surroundings.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur continue negotiations to welcome new additions as well as keeping a key figure in one case. Below is the round-up of the Liverpool's Premier League rivals.

Arsenal

Declan Rice is edging closer to becoming an Arsenal midfielder. The West Ham skipper is on the verge of making the move across the capital for a club-record £105m fee.

Sky Sports have reported that the Hammers are ready to sign the contracts which will see the England international become one of Mikel Arteta's options.

The Gunners are due to fly out to America as part of their pre-season tour at the weekend (Sunday) and it has been reported that there are growing hopes of completing the signing before they jet off across the Atlantic.

Chelsea

After signing Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea are said to be preparing to make an opening for Lyon's Rayan Cherki, according to ESPN.

It has been suggested he could be the replacement for Christian Pulisic who is heading to AC Milan. The Stamford Bridge side are said to already be moving to replace the attacker with Cherki one of the targets alongside Montpellier striker Elye Wahi.

The 19-year-old is said to be valued at around €40m with two years remaining on his deal. An automatic one-year extension was triggered in April after he made 15 starts in the French top-flight.

PSG have seen an offer rejected by Lyon in January, despite Cherki's club being open to the sale. There are troubles looming over Lyon, according to the report, as the club faced adhering to France's Financial Fair Play.

Manchester United

Manchester United are moving closer to an agreement with Inter Milan for goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to Sky Sports.

Talks between the two clubs are said to have been 'very positive' with the Italian side unwilling to move from their £51m asking price.

Personal terms have yet to be agreed but are not expected to be a problem with a willingness to get the deal done, it's been claimed.

Onana is due to report back for training on Thursday and sources close to the goalkeeper claim that there is a desire to reach a resolution before he is due to return.

While they battle on the pitch with rivals Manchester City, there is a tug-of-war ongoing off it. The Manchester Evening News have reported that the Red Devil are hoping to sign Darren Fletcher's twin son, Jack and Tyler, from City.

The Citizens are close to signing 16-year-old Harrison Parker after United refused to meet the demands for a higher salary, a switch that has been called a "revenge" move.

The move for the Fletchers would see the next generation of the former Scotland international play for the Old Trafford club.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United's pursuit of Harvey Barnes took a significant step as he edges closer to a Leicester City departure.

According to The Telegraph, negotiations for the Englishman moved forward after the clubs engaged in fresh talks to conclude a deal. It has been said that a fee of £35m could be agreed this week.

Barnes is said to be a primary target for Eddie Howe and could become the second signing of the summer after Sandro Tonali made the £55m switch from AC Milan. The switch would see Newcastle's net transfer budget spent, it has been claimed, and they would have to rely on player sales to comply with Financial Fair Play.

Tottenham Hotspur

According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur are facing a stern battle to keep club captain Harry Kane amid interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The England captain, and record goalscorer, is out of contract next summer and is once again, facing speculation surrounding his future for yet another season. Manchester City previously tested the resolve of Daniel Levy and Spurs but were rebuffed in their approach.

Sources have told ESPN that Kane is keen to move to the Bavarians as Thomass Tuchel's side consider a third bid. The 29-year-old has been offered a new deal in north London but he is not willing to pen terms.

Already two offers have been rejected by Spurs, the latest at €94m (£79m) with the German manager meeting Kane in the English capital a few weeks ago.

In a different report from Sky Germany, via the Mirror, Bayern are willing to sell Ryan Gravenberch and former Liverpool star Sadio Mane in order to fund the move for the England skipper.

Mane is among seven added to the transfer list with the Senegalese attacker said to be valued at around £17m. The Reds were targeting Ryan Gravenberch previously this summer, and it has been claimed that the Dutchman is also free to leave.

Elsewhere, Bournemouth are said to be leading the likes of Tottenham and West Ham in the race to sign coveted Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott.

That is according to TEAMtalk who have claimed that Bournemouth will test the resolve as new manager, Andoni Iraola, with a fee of around £25m tipped.

Spurs are among three Premier League clubs named in the article with West Ham and Wolves monitoring his development.
