Liverpool and the rest of the Premier League teams are set find out when their winter break will be slotted into their season of fixtures, with a decision expected later this week.
The break is set to take place at some point in February, with half of the division given a weekend off one week and the other half given their rest the following weekend.
That means that Liverpool's game with Norwich City will take place on either the weekend of February 8-9 or February 15-16, with an exact day and time also dependant on the games that are chosen for television.
If the Reds are told they will face the Canaries on the first of the two weekends, that will mean Jurgen Klopp's side will have a free week in the run-up to their first-leg clash with Atletico Madrid.
That will come as a big boost for Klopp, who would then have extra preparation time for the crucial European match.
The Reds will travel to Madrid on Tuesday, February 18 for the game at the Wanda Metropolitano, the stadium in which they were confirmed as champions of Europe back in June against Tottenham .
The return leg at Anfield will take place on Wednesday, March 11.
Liverpool's clash with West Ham United at the London Stadium also needs to be rearranged.
That match was scheduled to take place next weekend but has been postponed with the club in Qatar for the FIFA Club World Cup .
