More snow is forecast for Liverpool this weekend as the cold spell continues across the city.
For today Thursday, December 15, it will mainly be a bright and sunny day, however it will still feel cold with temperatures below average for December. Forecasters say skies through much of the night again mean temperatures will plummet leading to a hard frost and some freezing fog patches.
Temperatures will drop to -8C in the evening. The outlook for Friday into the weekend is some lingering freezing fog with wintery showers on Saturday and a spell of snow likely early Sunday.

Steven Keates , Met Office deputy chief forecaster, said: "The boundary between the two air masses will create a window for snowfall over the weekend. This is likely to be transient in nature as the mild wet air from the west will ‘bump’ into the colder air, before displacing it further east.
"This potential spell of snow will lead to some temporary disruption before the snow quickly turns to rain. While the freezing conditions remain, drivers especially are reminded that freezing fog, snow and other wintry hazards will continue to create difficult conditions in places this week."
