Liverpool could be handed '£34m transfer boost' by Inter Milan and Sevilla

In less than nine weeks, the 2020/21 Premier League season will draw to a close.

It is almost impossible to predict what the majority of outcomes will be in the top flight, but as sure as night follows day we can be certain that Liverpool are going to be linked with a whole host of transfers while a disappointing title defence comes to an end.

The inevitable calls for Jurgen Klopp to dip into the transfer market and strengthen his squad have already begun, while names the club are supposedly interested in will keep cropping up and those already at Anfield will no doubt be touted with moves away from if they have been judged as underperformers or out of favour this term.

And, in that, a certain Divock Origi is reportedly being targeted by Serie A leaders Inter Milan.

According to the Daily Mail, via Italian outlet CalcioMercato , Antonio Conte is looking to "complete his attack" and has compiled a shortlist of four players he wants the club to look at - with Origi the preferred option ahead of former Arsenal star Gervinho, who now plays for Parma, Cagliari's Leonardo Pavoletti and Sassuolo's Gianluca Scamacca.

The report claims a fee of around £13m could land Origi. Liverpool have previously made clear they are open to offers the for 25-year-old, though will respect the player's own decision before any transfer is finalised.

A move away from Anfield would make sense if the Belgian international wants to play more football with Klopp also receiving a boost to his transfer funds this summer should a deal go through - and it could be one to keep an eye on.

Also, according to Spanish publication La Razon , Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino are being targeted by Sevilla this summer.

The publication suggests that Shaqiri could depart due to not gaining the "prominence he expected" at Liverpool, with the La Liga side hoping to pay €15million (£13m) to sign the Switzerland international.

A deal for Shaqiri, in what could provide another injection of cash into the transfer coffers with FSG's sell-to-buy policy, could be a sensible option for all parties with the 29-year-old gaining more time on the pitch and the Reds able to refresh their squad.

In the same report, La Razon say that Takumi Minamino is also a "goal for Sevilla" and the club would be willing to pay €10m (£8.5m) for the Japan international - believing they have a chance because Klopp took the decision to loan the player to Southampton for the second half of this season.

However, such claims are wildly speculative and it would make no sense for the Reds to release Minamino for little more than they paid for him - particularly given his performances down on the south coast and the long-term succession planning that took place at Anfield before signing the 26-year-old in January 2020.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool sell these particular fringe players - and if a combined total of £34m is achievable in the current market if they do.

Reports from the continent are little more than supposition and guesswork at this stage but there are stars being mentioned like Origi and Shaqiri who insatiably transfer hungry fans may do well to keep an eye this summer.
