Liverpool confirm venue change for WSL fixture against Arsenal amid Prenton Park pitch issues

Liverpool Women have confirmed that their Super League game against Arsenal will be played at Chester FC's Deva Stadium after ongoing pitch issues at Tranmere.

Both clubs have a long-standing relationship with the Reds’ Under-23s having played a host of games at the venue over the past few years.

The move comes after Vicky Jepson’s side saw their last two home games postponed at Prenton Park due to the pitch being branded unplayable.

The switch is subject to broadcasting regulation approval, as the game is scheduled to be shown live on TV, and the club have also confirmed that further announcement for their remaining home fixtures this season will be "made soon".

"It was important that we could provide certainty for this game for the fans, players and staff of both teams as well as meet all the requirements of the WSL,” Liverpool Women chairman Peter Moore said in a statement.

"That has been achieved thanks to the generous cooperation of everyone at Chester FC. Liverpool Women would also like to thank Arsenal Women and the FA for their support."

The club have also confirmed that Liverpool’s valued relationship with Tranmere will remain and Jepson’s team will continue to train alongside Rovers at their Solar Campus base.
