Liverpool confirm Jurgen Klopp decision for Shrewsbury Town FA Cup tie

Jurgen Klopp will be back in charge of Liverpool on the touchline for this afternoon's FA Cup third-round clash against Shrewsbury Town at Anfield.

The Reds boss was forced to miss last Sunday's 2-2 Premier League draw at Chelsea after testing positive for coronavirus the previous day.

Klopp subsequently entered a period of isolation where he could only keep in touch with the coaching staff and players remotely.

However, after now being clear of isolation, he will now be in the dugout for the visit of the League One side.

Klopp met up with the squad at the team hotel on Sunday morning and is expected to undertake the usual post-match media duties.

Liverpool were forced to postpone last Thursday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Arsenal after a COVID outbreak swept through the playing and coaching staff.

The Reds closed their AXA Training Centre on Wednesday for two days and, with a significant number of first-team players having tested positive, are expected to field an extremely experimental line-up against Shrewsbury.
