Liverpool confirm Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno will leave this summer

Liverpool have confirmed that both Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno will leave the club upon the expiry of their contracts this summer.

Sturridge joined the Reds from Chelsea in January 2013 and made a blistering start to his Reds career, scoring just seven minutes into his debut.

That led into a fine first full season at the club in which the Englishman's deadly partnership with Luis Suarez almost brought the Premier League title to Anfield.

However, injury problems since have restricted his playing time on Merseyside, and he leaves with just 160 appearances to his name after six-and-a-half years.

Moreno has been at Liverpool since completing a move from hometown club Sevilla in the summer of 2014.

After a promising start that featured a memorable solo goal at Tottenham, the Spaniard suffered a dip in form that followed the path of the Reds' decline prior to Jurgen Klopp's arrival.

And, after losing his starting place to James Milner in 2016-17, Moreno has spent the last two campaigns behind Andy Robertson in the pecking order.
