After a week-long case in London, it was ruled in October that New Balance's 'matching clause' was not met, freeing up the European champions to enter into a new, long-term deal with the biggest sportswear manufacturers on the planet.
Liverpool’s deal with New Balance will come to an end on July 31st, with the new contract with Nike due to begin the next day.
Under normal circumstances, April would be the peak time for concept kits to be the talk of social media - as new strips edge closer to being announced.
But the suspension caused by the coronavirus outbreak cast doubt over when next season would eventually start.
