Liverpool have completed the signing of Polish teenager Mateusz Musialowski.
The 16-year-old winger, considered a top prospect after being tracked by talent-spotters from a number of top clubs, posted a picture on his Instagram page at Liverpool ’s Kirkby Academy training base.
He has already added Liverpool Football Club to his biography and the Liverpool Echo claim the Reds agreed a deal to sign him from Polish side SMS Lodz several months ago.
He has now arrived as planned after putting pen to paper on scholarship terms to start off with Liverpool’s Under-18s before he will become eligible for a professional contract when he turns 18.
Musialowski mainly operates on the right flank with reports he has cost the Reds a six-figure fee.
He becomes Liverpool’s second summer signing, with fellow Polish talent Fabian Mrozek joining their academy setup last month.
Goalkeeper Mrozek signed from FC Wroclaw and the two compatriots will have high hopes of rising through the ranks over the coming years.
Despite having an eye on the future, it looks set to be a quiet transfer window for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp has made no secret of the fact they are operating on a limited budget after the coronavirus pandemic.
Any big spending to strengthen his first-team looks unlikely, whilst Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren have already left the club for Brighton and Zenit St Petersburg respectively.
