Liverpool complete signing of record-breaking midfielder from Fulham

Liverpool have completed the signing of Harvey Elliott.

Confirmation of this deal came via the club's official website on Sunday morning and the teenager will be part of the squad to face Napoli in a pre-season friendly later today.

Furthermore, he will part of the first-team training camp In Evian.

Elliott is a 16-year-old winger who made history twice last season.

Firstly he became the Cottagers' youngest ever debutant when he appeared for the first team in the League Cup against Millwall on September 25, 2018 aged 15 years and 174 days.

He then became the youngest ever player to feature in the Premier League when he came off the bench against Wolves towards the end of last season aged 16 years and 30 days.

His second taste of top-flight football came on the final day of the 2018/2019 campaign - a 4-0 loss against Newcastle United.

The Mirror claimed earlier in the month that the youngster had been tracked by Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and RB Leipzig.

So it's certainly a huge deal that Liverpool have won the race for his signature.

The fee hasn't been revealed as of yet.

However, the Telegraph did reveal a few weeks ago that a significant compensation package will have to be agreed with Liverpool.

Elliott is set to become the latest success story to come out of the Fulham academy following in the footsteps of Patrick Roberts and now former teammate Ryan Sessegnon.
